ANNETTE THOMPSON
Family and Consumer Sciences
Annette Thompson graduated locally, from Parkin, but went on to great educational heights. She attended the University of Arkansas in Pine BLuff, where she matriculated with a Bachelor of Science of Institutional Dietetic. Ms. Thompson has also attained a Masters of Education from the University of Memphis. Choosing to return to her home, she has taught in the Parkin School District, Earle School District, Marion School District, and the Crowley's Ridge Community College Adult Education Department.
Ms. Thompson currently teaches all grades 8th - 12th, and is licensed to teach Vocational Family and Consumer Science, Workplace Readiness, and financial Literacy. If giver her choice, she would teach Biology, Physical Science, or Chemistry.
While she wants people to know that she enjoys teaching naturally and spiritually, teaching was not her first choice growing up; that was reserved for nursing. Being a Registered Dietitian was her second choice, with teaching falling in third place. Earle is both lucky and grateful that Ms. Thompson passed on her first options.
